Part of what makes our postcards extra special are the hand-drawn illustrations that sit alongside each recipe. We love working with the super talented illustrators who add their own personality to the images and bring each dish to life.

We’d like to introduce you to…

Nell Hugh-Jones

Based in: New York, USA

Nell first started getting interested in illustration when she was a teenager and used to draw all the time throughout school and university. Whilst she started off mostly drawing for friends and family, she did two art projects, one on the 20th century designers Edward Bawden and Eric Ravilious, and the other on Quentin Blake, and gradually realised illustration was her favourite thing. 

She likes to draw most things but really enjoys landscapes and cityscapes, family portraits and recently in 2021 - food!

Savannah Storm

Based in: North Yorkshire, UK

Dalou Illustration: Chocolate and Coffee Mississippi Mud Pie 

As well as her love for drawing and sketching, Savannah is an avid sea swimmer and does so in lovely North Yorkshire where she is based. Savannah also loves to cook and has been a vegetarian for 12 years.

Savannah explains that she believes illustration is a powerful tool for learning and accessibility, and is inspired by finding joy in the everyday. She especially loves to draw food, people, clothing, buildings and objects.

Katie Tinkler

Based in: London, UK

Dalou Illustrations: Roasted Celeriac Crown with Pink Peppercorn Sauce

Crispy Spiced Feta with Sticky Plum Sauce

Katie draws everything food, whether it’s a lemon meringue pie or a freshly baked jacket potato with cheese and beans. She creates her designs digitally on her iPad and using gouache.

She started capturing food in all its beauty back in the first lockdown, when she suddenly found herself out of work. Her following and products have grown since then and you can find everything from cards and tea towels to calendars and original paintings on her Etsy page, so go check it out.

Rebecca Rickards

Based in: Cornwall, UK

Dalou Illustration: Burnt Clementine and Almond Cookies

Rebecca’s business started when she was working and living in London but dreaming of being back in Cornwall where she got her degree in graphic design at Falmouth University.

She finally made the move back and her Cornish life brings lots of inspiration from little fishing villages to long Sandy beaches. Go check out her wonderful greeting cards or her lobster collection and feel those Cornish vibes.

Vusala is a graphic designer living in Baku, specializing in branding and illustration. It was her dream to become a graphic designer as a child as she has always loved art, so she is over the moon being able to be creative every day and work with people on projects like magazines and books.
